About the event
Durgapur Barrage Bird Walk is an annual event by WINGS. It was started during February 2015. It happens usually on the 3rd Sunday of February, every year on the occasion of worldwide Great Backyard Bird Count. It is an open-to-all event, where beginners get an opportunity to learn about bird identification, counting techniques, and behavior in the field. Another focus of this event is to obtain an annual snapshot of the bird diversity of Durgapur Barrage and long-term monitoring.
